Mopar Spark Plugs
Your engine runs on fuel and oxygen. They have to burn in the right ratio to release power. Spark plugs are what combust the mix.
How Does a Spark Plug Work?
The process begins when you stick your key in the ignition lock cylinder and turn it, triggering your ignition switch. Various ignition parts -- your car battery, an ignition coil, a starter solenoid, and a starter motor -- then work together to create an electrical spark. The leads on each plug capture that current and use it to ignite the air and gas mixture.
Then, your engine pistons pump. Your crankshaft turns. Finally, your vehicle's many parts can get moving. Without spark plugs, though, none of that could happen. Your vehicle wouldn't start at all.
To make matters worse, a spark plug can go bad. Its leads can corrode or widen, weakening the charges it can capture. A misfiring engine usually results, if not engine failure. A broken spark plug is worse. It usually causes severe damage to an engine's cylinders.
Luckily, spark plugs made by your brand get made to last, for millions of ignitions and as many as 100,000 miles. Just be sure you replace whichever are getting close to their recommended mileage limits. You can usually find more details on that in your vehicle's owner's manual.
What Spark Plugs Do I Need?
That depends. What make and model are you driving? Genuine OEM spark plugs will work best either way. Mopar designs them compatible with your vehicle from the get-go. You can buy how many you need online, right from our auto parts counter. Just be sure you're browsing our inventory by brand and model, so you get the right fit. Order now, and we'll deliver them right to your home.
